EAST COAST SWING
& LINDY HOP
Our Thursday intermediate level classes show you how to put cool moves together into achievable social dance sequences. Each week we take a few moves from the previous class and blend them with other moves into a new sequence, building your knowledge and ability to dance more fluently. Classes are held on a drop-in basis so you can attend whenever it fits into your schedule. Just pay at the door when you arrive, with no worries about pre-registration or missed classes in a series!
You may participate one or both classes - whatever works best for your learning style and experience level. Some students prefer to just focus on one dance style; others enjoy attending both classes to keep learning and practicing both styles. Each Lindy Hop lesson starts with footwork drills to get you warmed up and into your Lindy-groove.

Admission
$12 General Admission ($8 dance only)
$10 Students and Military with valid ID ($6 dance only)
Admission covers both classes, plus Late Night Swing DJ dance.
No pre-registration; just pay at the door when you arrive.
1ST THURSDAY
BASICS SAMPLER CLASS
On the 1st Thursday of every month we teach the basics of each style so those who are curious can get an idea of how each dance works. In both classes we emphasize proper technique, styling, and lead-&-follow connection concepts. And don't forget that Late Night Swing is free for all who take the class!
EAST COAST SWING
You’ll start by working on the basic step in facing position, then learn how to add simple turns, and how to move back and forth between closed and facing positions. We also include a drill to help you connect and dance better with your partner.
LINDY HOP
Our 8-count rhythm drills help get you acclimated to moving through basic shapes and patterns with your partner. Then you’ll use these skills to learn learn lindy circles and swing-outs from closed and open positions.

First Avenue is reduced to a single lane between Main Street NE and 7th Street SE. Crews will work along the north side (right lanes) of 1st Avenue. Traffic can continue to use the left lane.
Hennepin Avenue is reduced to a single lane between Main Street NE and 8th Street SE. Crews will work along the south side (right lanes) of Hennepin Avenue. Traffic can continue to use the left lane.
