“On a starry autumn evening this past October, the Cool Disposition Blues Band set out to record a live CD – without special effects…just the real deal.  This is the way blues are meant to be played and heard – raw, inspired, and live in a smoky blues club with an enthusiastic audience. – Liner notes

Cool Disposition is a fun live band, so I was pleased to see they made a recording of one of their shows to capture the essence of seeing them live.

These guys are all very good at their craft and play well together.  They inspire me to dance on several songs including Hurricane Howard, Rock This House, Good Rockin’ Tonight and Next Time You See Me.  They also recorded a local dancer favorite, Too Much Rhythm which is fun.

You will find a few R&B tunes with a latiny flavor and a couple straight blues tunes as well.  Hey, it’s a blues band!  I do think the band did a good job mixing in several tempos that give a dancer some variety.  However, as with most blues bands, songs creep into the 5 and 6 minute category.  Not always Zen for dancers but on par with what you get with blues bands.

My overall impression of this CD is that I like it.  They did a pretty good job capturing a live show (not an easy thing to do) and the band plays well together.   They’ve made it a fun CD which is why I say go ahead and pick up a copy the next time you see them playin’.

Bottom Line:  To buy or not to buy….. Buy!  Here’s how:
